1. In the United States of America, it was recently ruled that the phrase "one nation under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional. Do you agree with this ruling? Should the phrase "under God" be removed? Why?
Yup, I definitely agree with the ruling. Yes, it should be removed. It is becoming very difficult to maintain much of the older documents upon which this country is founded since political ideologies are very much connected to social ones. We don;t operate on the same cultural and political levels as the forefathers did. That was a nation where the majority WAS one under God. But America today in its "mixed salad" status has too many variations in it to have an oath that purports to only one section of people living in this country. There are MANY Americans of many different faiths. This is not a country of conformity, at least in theory, so there is no reason why everyone needs to take an oath to the controlling powers deity. Besides, religion needs to be far removed from politics. There is, and should be, no place in it. Lest we forget the Crusades.
2. When was the last time you took a road trip? Where did you go and what did you do?
Hmmmm....Denver, Colorado for the 4 C's convention. The trip there and back was a nightmare. Let's just say it involved being trapped in Houston, flying standby, and resorting to a 24 hour Greyhound bus drive through the WORST parts of this country.
3. Do you have any vacations planned for this summer? Already gone? Where to and what?
Oh yup yup. A trip to Atlanta to see Jennifer Holliday in Dreamgirls and a trip to NYC with ma boo, which is going to kick ass.
4. What is the most drastic change to your appearance that you have ever made? Are you brave enough to post a photo?
I pierced my eyebrow. Yeah I am brave enough to post it, but what the hell is the point of that?
5. Tell me about something to which you are committed?
Making people laugh any chance I get. I feed off the positive emotions of my friends and get distressed when they are. Making myself wholly available to people in need, no matter what, has made me into a very selfless person.
6. Now tell me about something you just flat-out gave up on.
Myself.
7. (new saga) I've had it, this place is just wearing me out. You too? We need a break! Let's head out and go someplace new. You make the plans, I'll get things ready. So what do you have it mind, and did you want me to pick up anything special to pack for the trip?
Let's just get in the car and drive and stop at the nearest interesting locale. Pack nothing, we shall buy things as we go along.
