The 11-State Ban....Why are they Surprised?
So gay activists and the like are up in arms and doing everything they can to change the 11-state ban on same sex marriages. They were shocked and felt derailed by the results.

What on earth or in heaven would make them think that the amendment would not pass in this lifetime. We are not living in a free and equal society. You have bigots and religious zealots who run the country, and considering the states, come on... I am all for equality of any person regardless of race, creed, gender or sexual orientation, but the current climate and administration in this country will never allow and accept same sex marriages. Please, they can't even accept that GLBT people even exist. It is amazing that you can be denied your rights based on arguments derived from a centuries old text that lacks authority and authenticity. The bible is more reliable and helpful as a table balancer than it is a text for laws and moral and social order. People pick and choose what they want the bible to be used for and ignore everything else. For example, thanks to a little info JT gave me, "lying down with another man" is spoken of only 3 times in the New Testament, one of those by Jesus, but owning property and sharing wealth is mentioned 9 times. And the people who use the Old Testament are even stupider because that section also states it is sinful to eat anything from the ocean and wear clothes made of two different materials (among others). So really...all those bible thumping hate mongers are going to hell too. HEY!
Saw Fosse a couple of nights ago and really enjoyed it despite the enormous changes and the relatively young cast. Was definitely better than the 1st national tour. Got to meet with the cast after. Very nice group of people with great heart. Not one straight man to be seen. Very surreal.
And it has finally happened...I am getting sick. I think I snagged it too late for the zicam to take effect, and by the way, Zicam has three new forms: a chewable Starburst kind of thing, a dissolvable tab, and an oral spray. Thank god no more squidgy liquid in the nose because that got annoying.
