Alright, so it;s midnight and have I had my ranting time? Nooooooo.... That's ok tho I got to talk to a friend who has been gone for about a week and we had some catching up and laughing to do. I got a busy weekend coming up. Going to lunch tomm with some friends, then to the movies and din din with Sara, then Saturday I am hanging out with the gang before most of them go off to college. It;ll be a bittersuite moment. Tomm. is also an important day for another reason...whether I can get through it or not remains to be seen....I just want things to work out (yeah, I know, being ambiguous me).
Ok, here;s part of my rant. Disney has this special called 2 hour tour and basically these different touring bands pick like three finalists out of tape entries to audition to be their opening bands. I have the honor of knowing one of the girls who auditioined for 98 degrees on the first episode. And she didn;t make it, even tho she should have. Now I saw another episode of it while I was flipping through the channels and was amazed by two of the groups while I was moderately amused by the third. Same reaction I had to the groups of the first episode. I noticed something very odd but expectable. The bands who were eventually picked sucked ass. In this last one (for Savage Garden) there was a group of three Fillipino girls that were amazing and had everything from looks to voice to moves and the other was a 15 year-old girl with a voice to die for. The group that got picked was a duo of white girls who could barely synchronize their clothing let alone their dance steps and sang a song they wrote called Orange Crush. Now you tell me....is it somewhat fixed? Like these bands would actually pick talented groups to upstage them. I think the whole thing is just stupid cause I know the bands that got picked did not get too far. The ones from the first episode were this jazz/hip-hop/rap/ska/funk band that was absolutely horrid. So there you go. Just goes to show how shallow people in showbiz actually are. I hope to God I never become like that if I get to be famousl.
