The Hills are Alive, with the Sound of Ego

Well last night went swimmingly. Well, not really. Let me preface this by saying that I am an anal pefectionist and am almost never happy with my work or how it turns out, even though I will be proud of how my dancers perform. The first act was rough on the dancing, I could tell that some of them were just not there onstage; their minds were on other things. The second act went much better, altho I am tried of one of my favorite pieces being in the dark. I;m gonna have ot talk to someone about that. Overall, I have to say that this is the first time I have ever been embarassed by a show and not wanted anyone to see it. It is a technical nightmare and the lead is just awful. The only time the show comes alive, and i was told this by several people and overheard it, was when the dancers came on. There is no doubt that they are the stars of the show and work the hardest in it. I am so proud of each and every one of them. Now they just need to get those dances down perfect.

I brought Jorge with me so they could meet him after the show and have dinner with us so they could gauge if they like him and then decide whether they wanted to do the next show. I figured after the debaucle of this one, it was the least I owed them before I dragged them into another show. They all seemed to like him, and he just loved them. He is very excited to get to work with some of them so I hope everything turns out alright. In the meantime I have a faboo sleepover planned for Friday and a "special" cast party planned for the closing night because we want to get the hell out of dodge and be over and done with with these people. I cannot wait until it is all over and I never have to see them again. What a pity.
