Hell Week Indeed
I had the urge to contribute something to my rhetorical space online, but I was too fucking exhausted when I got home. La Cage is killing me, in a good way, and proving to be the biggest challenge so far in my theatrical career. i knew going into it how hard it was going to be, but I had no idea how hard it was going to be. It promises to be a good show though. I am sure the first week of performances will be nothing less than rough, but then again, I am the anal perfectionist.
So three movies you should watch:
1) Shaun of the Dead - just good fun. I laughed, I cried, I love Brit humor.
2) Vanity Fair - liked this better than I thought I would. Reese Witherspoon actually comes across as an actress in this one and does a great job. I love stories like this (albeit based on better novels, but having never read the original Thackeray, the movie is all I have).
3) Show Boy - a mockumentary about the exec producer of Six Feet Under who gets fired and decides he wants a career as a vegas show boy. If you like movies like Waiting for Guffman, this one is for you.
And got a phone call at 12:18 this morning by Tony with whom I argued when my birthday was. I have been so frazzled that I thought it was on a Tuesday. But it's not...it's today. So happy birthday to me as I grade papers and prepare for rehearsal tonight. Woo woo.
